President: Farhan Ali
Farhan is a junior studying BCN and Near-Eastern Studies. He hails from Troy, MI and the IAGD community. He is enjoys eating mexican food, and right after (so he doesn’t feel too bad) he likes to play recreational basketball and football.
Vice President Internal: Nusayba Tabbah
Nusayba Tabbah is a senior from Flint, MI studying Biomedical Engineering. Her responsibility as Vice President of Internal Affairs is to oversee programs and educational events such as halaqas and seminars. Her hobbies include drawing, painting, and reading. She also enjoys taking on random home renovation/DIY projects in her free time.
Vice President External: Misba Saleem
Misba is a senior from the Chicago area double majoring in Cognitive Science and Psychology. In her role as Vice President of External Affairs and Outreach, Misba serves as a liaison to University administration, other campus organizations and national organizations for interfaith understanding and coalition building. Her goals for this year are to welcome freshmen and transfer students to the MSA, create a more inclusive MSA experience, foster relationships between the Muslim community and other student organizations, and serve as a resource to Muslim students of all walks of life. Misba will be holding weekly coffee (or tea!) chat hours during which she hopes you will stop by to say hello!
Vice President – Operations: Humza Shaukat
Humza is a junior studying Neuroscience. His position involves booking rooms and running mailing lists and the website. No one really knows what else he does.
Treasurer: Riyah Basha
Riyah is a sophomore from the suburbs of Chicago interested in studying policy and economics. As the treasurer, Riyah’s chief job is to make sure our organization isn’t broke, but she also looks forward to a year of building solidarity in groups across campus, as well as strengthening community ties and inclusion efforts. Riyah enjoys reading, road trips, and roasting the MSA boys.
Sisterhood Chair: Nour Abughoush
Nour Abughoush: Nour is a junior from Wyoming, MI majoring in BCN. Nour’s position deals with planning weekly socials for the sisters as well larger scale events like the bi-annual picnics and the annual banquet. In her free time she enjoys watching television and facetiming with her large family.
Brotherhood Chair: Mohammad Shaikh
Mohammad is a sophomore from Ann Arbor studying at the Ross School of Business. Mohammad’s position involves coordinating weekly socials and larger scale events like bi-annual picnics and banquets. This year, he aims to empower each and every member of our community, and to make them feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued. He is passionate about creating positive change, bringing people together, and making people smile. Also, he enjoys reading, writing, continually learning, and watching the sunrise on early morning runs.
